What to Expect

This week at These Old Cookbooks, we are serving up delicious meals that Grandma would approve.   All of these recipes have simple ingredients (see our grocery list at the bottom of this post) and are easy to follow.

We’ve got some time-saving strategies this week!  On the weekend, we are making the Easiest Grilled Chicken Ever, and we suggest making extra chicken to use in 10 Minute Lemon Chicken Pasta later in the week.

We’ve also chosen recipes that have the same ingredients such as Kale that is being used in Instant Pot Tomato Braised Kale and Simple Mango Farro Kale Salad. We are also stocking up on lemons to use in the Lemon Chicken Pasta and in the same Simple Mango Farro Kale Salad. You’ll also notice that stewed tomatoes are used in multiple recipes this week, so stock up!

There are also some substitutions you could make to save money. Two recipes this week call for red bell peppers and the other calls for green bell peppers.  Instead of getting both, get one kind and use it in all recipes.

See the grocery list below (we didn’t include the ingredients from recipes NOT on our site). You most likely won’t need everything on that list. We are betting that you have many of these ingredients already in your refrigerator or pantry!
