There are desserts that satisfy a craving, and then there are desserts that stop you in your tracks. These peanut butter fudge brownies fall squarely into the second category.
The bottom layer is a homemade brownie that is fudgy and unapologetically chocolatey, and it is topped with a silky layer of peanut butter fudge. It’s the kind of combination that makes you wonder why all brownies aren’t required to come with a peanut butter upgrade.
Ingredients for Peanut Butter Fudge Brownies
This is my Granny’s from scratch brownie recipe meshed together with one of my favorite desserts – peanut butter fudge. I figured when you put them together, it would be a match made in heaven, and I was right. The fudge acts like a thick peanut butter icing. This would be a perfect dessert for any get together! They remind us a lot of our peanut butter balls!

Recipe FAQs for Peanut Butter Fudge Topped Brownies
- Do not overbake your brownies. To check doneness, use a toothpick in the center. When it comes out, it should have a few moist crumbs stuck to it, not completely dry!
- You can make these in an 8 x 8 inch pan instead of a 9 x 9 inch if that’s what you have. The baking time can increase up to 5 minutes with this change.
- Use creamy peanut butter for this recipe.
- If you do not have parchment paper, grease your baking dish before pouring the fudge into the pan to cool.
