Honey Roasted Bridge Mix Ingredients
This honey roasted bridge mix recipe comes from my Alaskans: Sharing Their Best 2 from the church of Our Lady Of Sorrows Cook Book. I love how it’s called a bridge mix, and I can imagine this this tasty snack mix was served at many card parties back in the day.
I immediately added this recipe to my repertoire because honestly, I can’t turn down a bowl of nuts. Cashews, Brazil Nuts, Pecans, Walnuts, Hazelnuts, Cashews, Almonds, there isn’t a nut I don’t like.
In particular, mixed nuts are a favorite snack of mine, and adding a honey coating takes them up another level.

Recipe FAQs
- I use salted mixed nuts. The combination of the salty and the sweet of the honey is perfect. If you use unsalted nuts, consider adding some salt with the superfine sugar mixture.
- Superfine sugar is found in the baking aisle of the grocery store. Or find it here on Amazon.
- The recipe states that the mixed nuts should not contain peanuts; however, it’s not the end of the world if you have peanuts in there too.
- Be sure to use a deep saucepan. The honey will expand when boiling, and will boil over the side of a shallow pan. (I know from experience.)
- The cinnamon is divided for this recipe. 1/2 teaspoon goes in the honey mixture, and 1/2 teaspoon gets mixed with the superfine sugar.
Recipe Variations
- Use butter or margarine.
- Omit the cinnamon if you aren’t a fan. Or substitute cinnamon with a pinch of cayenne pepper or chili powder for a bit of heat.
- Use different blends of nuts or try a single variety. Peanuts could be used instead for a honey roasted peanut recipe. I would use the dry roasted peanuts.
- Parchment paper can be used instead of aluminum foil.
- Add some unexpected ingredients to the nut blend such as cocoa nibs, sunflower seeds, or pumpkin seeds.
