What is Chex Mix seasoning made of?
Making your own homemade Chex mix is easy. The seasoning is a combination of melted butter, Worcestershire sauce, onion and garlic powders and seasoned salt. Bold Chex Mix seasoning has more Worcestershire sauce than the classic Chex mix recipe.
How do you keep Chex Mix from getting soggy.
Follow these three easy tips to prevent a soggy Chex Mix.
- Shake the mix to get an even distribution of seasoning over the snack mix. Shake, shake, shake. Using a clean trash bag works the best to get everything properly coated.
- Stir often during baking to separate all the individual pieces. You don’t want clumps of ingredients stuck together.
- Bake longer. If there’s still wet pieces at the end of the recommended baking time, bake a little longer.
Is Corn Chex or rice Chex better?
I prefer using corn Chex because it is a sturdier cereal. Rice Chex has a tendency to get soggy from the melted butter, while corn Chex holds up better.
