A Dirty White Russian Cocktail takes the basic White Russian recipe of vodka, Kahlua and heavy whipping cream up a notch with some extra caffeine in the form of cold brew coffee. This cocktail is a perfect after dinner drink when you want something a bit more than just coffee.
Dirty White Russian Recipe
White Russian cocktails are my husband’s favorite cocktail. I think he equally likes the drink and the movie The Big Lebowski where the main character (the Dude) is always drinking White Russians. What is the Dude’s favorite drink? A White Russian!
The original White Russian recipe contains vodka, heavy cream, and Kahlua, a coffee liqueur. Kahlua is from Mexico and consists of rum and coffee liqueur. It has a 20% Alc/Vol ratio. This mixed with the vodka packs a pretty powerful punch. Check out our friend Leah’s Vanilla White Russian over on Farmwife Drinks!
White Russian with Coffee Recipe
I wanted to change up the original recipe to include cold brew coffee, my new favorite afternoon beverage. I love that cold brew coffee can now be found at the grocery store in the refrigerated section.
My favorite type contains a hint of chocolate. I like mixing milk and cold brew in a one to one ratio for a treat to get me through an afternoon at work.

Notes About Our White Russian Cocktail with Coffee:
- White Russian ingredients include coffee liqueur, vodka, and some type of dairy product like milk, half and half or cream. This White Russian cocktail version also contains cold brew coffee.
- I make many of my favorite cocktails in mason jars. You can make this ahead, and then put the lid on it and take it to the party. It also makes it easier to get the portions correct because many mason jars have lines for ounces so you know how much you are putting in.
- Using the lines on a mason jar to make this coffee cocktail, I fill the jar to the 8 ounce line with cold brew coffee, 12 ounce line with vodka, 16 ounce line with Kahlua, and then to the top with heavy cream.
- To make this white Russian cocktail with coffee pretty, pour the cream in over the back of a spoon so that it layers at the top.
- You could also make this Dirty White Russian with milk instead of heavy cream. It will lighten things up a bit!
- Love Kahlua? Try our Chocolate Kahlua Bundt Cake!
- This would be a great cocktail for your next brunch. Serve it along side our Pumpkin Waffles, Grandma’s Sour Cream Coffee Cake, Prep Ahead Old Fashioned Oatmeal Pancakes, or Pumpkin Chocolate Chip Muffins.
