I made these bad boys to go with my leftover Ground Beef Pizza Casserole that I heated up for dinner over the weekend. They reminded me of the yummy biscuits they serve at Red Lobster.

Serve them with Italian food like I did or with seafood just like Red Lobster.

The secret to these copycat cheddar biscuits from Red Lobster is using Bisquick mix.

What is Bisquick?

It’s a pre-mixed blend of flour, baking powder, salt and butter/oil.  It’s a great pantry staple for pancakes, waffles, short cakes and easy recipes like this one.

Find it in the baking aisle at the grocery store or in our Amazon Store.  Look for the big yellow box!  There are also good generic brands available too.

How to Make Cheesy Garlic Biscuits with Bisquick

Full recipe and ingredient amounts for copycat Red Lobster Cheddar Biscuit is in the recipe card at the end of this post.

Combine baking mix and cheese in a small bowl. Add water and stir until combined and slightly moistened. Drop dough by tablespoonfuls onto baking sheets that have been lightly sprayed with non-stick vegetable spray. Bake for about 10 minutes, or until firm and beginning to turn golden. Combine melted butter, dried parsley and garlic powder in a small bowl and mix well. As soon as biscuits come out of the oven, brush them with the butter mixture using a pastry brush. Serve warm. Makes about one dozen.

Notes About Cheddar Bay Biscuits using Bisquick:

  • Use any type of shredded cheese you love instead of cheddar cheese, if desired.
  • Be sure to use all the butter herb mixture for full flavor.
  • If you want them extra golden brown, brush with butter mixture and return to the oven for a couple extra minutes.
  • Substitute margarine for butter, if desired.
  • This shortcut cheesy garlic biscuits make 12 biscuits.
