Pizza Casserole with Elbow Macaroni Recipe:
Recently, I discovered a Pizza Potato Supreme Casserole in an old cookbook, and my family’s reaction to it inspired me to tweak the recipe for this cheesy pizza casserole. My kids love anything made with ground beef, some of their favorites are Frisco Melt Tater Tot Casserole, Mom’s Hamburger Gravy, Baked Spaghetti Pie, and Goulash. So naturally they loved this stove top meal too!
The cheesiness in pizza hamburger helper comes from three different factors – condensed cheddar cheese soup, grated Parmesan cheese and shredded mozzarella cheese. Check out these cheese strands!
Have you ever used condensed cheddar cheese soup? Keep a can or two in the pantry to throw in your casseroles when you need a cheese factor. You will thank me later. I think it is right up there with cream of chicken, celery or mushroom soup.
I really love how this pizza skillet is a one pan plan and you can create an entire meal in one cooking vessel. You are welcome for only having one dish to clean after dinner. Want another tip to make clean up easier? Make your children do the dishes. It builds character, and it builds valuable life skills. Just saying…
Easily modify pizza casserole to your tastes or based on what you have on hand. Try adding more of your favorite pizza toppings including pepperoni, green pepper, mushrooms, etc. Swap out jarred pizza sauce regular tomato sauce or pasta sauce. Change up the cheeses for other shredded varieties or swap a can of cream of mushroom soup for the condensed cheddar soup. Customize this dish to your tastes!
