Ground Sausage Dinner

One of the first things I look for in a new recipe is the number of ingredients.  Let’s face it, I tend to get overwhelmed when there’s a huge list of ingredients. My eyes start to gloss over so I naturally move on to something that seems easier, and usually quicker.

The second thing I look for is how long the recipe takes to prepare and cook.  At 5 pm when I get home from work, the kids are already starving for dinner. The faster I can make dinner, the less meltdowns that go down.

This Creole Pinto Beans and Sausage fits both of those requirements. All it takes is 5 simple ingredients – hot ground sausage, onion, green pepper, canned pinto beans and tomato sauce.  And, it takes approximately 20 minutes from start to finish to cook on the stove-top.
