Are you a fan of fall apart, tender pork roast?

Old Fashioned Slow Cooker Pork Roast
Today’s version of pork roast is a bit sweeter, containing a combination of brown sugar, soy sauce and a base of cream of mushroom soup. You may even have all those ingredients already in the cabinet.
In my humble opinion, pork roasts do not get enough love. I’m always hearing and seeing recipes for beef chuck or rump roasts, but rarely do I see any for the pork equivalent. That’s why I’ve made it my own personal mission to elevate the love of pork roasts.
Thus far, I’ve conquered the pork roast not just once but three times. The first time was with this Crock Pot Pork Roast and Gravy recipe. If you haven’t tried it, then I highly recommend it. The second is a completely new and inspiring recipe called Honey Mustard Pork Roast. It makes a delicious sauce to serve with the pork roast.
What temperature should a pork roast be cooked to?
The FDA recommends cooking a pork roast to an internal temperature of 145 degrees F. You could safely target 140 degrees F, and then turn off the slow cooker. As the pork sits, it should rise in temperature another 5 degrees to 145 degrees F.
How do I know if my pork roast is done cooking?
For a fail-proof method, use a digital meat thermometer. Set the target cooking temperature to 145 degrees F, insert the probe into the center of the meat and walk away. Once the pork roast reaches that temperature, the thermometer will sound a noise so that you know it is cooking properly.
Failing to do this could result in a dry, tough pork roast.
