Chicken Noodle Soup Casserole
I’m taking it back to a classic, old fashioned casserole from my friend Jackie. Chicken Casserole has graced the tables of many families throughout the decades, and this chicken noodle casserole with chicken noodle soup has stood the test of time.
When I got married, Jackie gifted me a hand-written cookbook with many of her families favorite recipes. I treasure this cookbook and think of Jackie kindly every time I open it.
If you are looking for the perfect bridal shower, baby shower, wedding gift, or college graduation gift this is a great idea. Tailor the recipes based of the type of gift it is. A new mom might want some freezer-friendly or crock pot meals, a new bride would like recipes for two or easy, starter recipes; the sky is the limit when it comes to creativity for this gift idea.
Notes About Chicken Noodle Soup Casserole
- Chicken breasts or thighs work great. Or, use shredded rotisserie chicken, drained canned chicken breast, poached chicken or pretty much any leftover cooked chicken you have hand.
- Cream of chicken or cream of celery work great as substitutions for cream of mushroom soup.
- Be sure to use condensed chicken noodle soup for this easy chicken noodle soup casserole.
- Any type of cracker works for the topping – butter crackers (Ritz), saltines, Club, etc.
- Substitute margarine for butter, if desired.
- I prefer white bread for the bread cubes but wheat works too. This is a great way to use up leftover hamburger or hot dog buns too!
