Ham and Cheese Crescent Rolls – A Leftover Ham Recipe

Holiday hams are great for serving the whole family, yet there always seems to be leftovers. You can only eat so many ham sandwiches or fried ham with brown sugar. At some point, it’s time to get creative in the kitchen with the leftovers.  That is how these stuffed ham and cheese crescents were created.

With a simple assessment of my refrigerator and pantry, I found all the ingredients needed for this leftover ham crescent bake.

Ingredients Needed For Stuffed Ham and Cheese Crescents

  • Ham
  • Shredded Cheddar Cheese
  • Refrigerated Crescents
  • Milk
  • Cream Soup (cream of chicken or cream of celery)
  • Velveeta (optional)

Quick Leftover Ham Casserole

Let’s get real, during the busy week, there’s no time for a four course, five star, Iron-chef quality meal.  I’m more concerned about what I can toss together quickly and whether or not my kids will complain when they see their plates.

Ham and Cheese Crescents go together fast with a few simple steps.

Dice the ham and mix with shredded cheese.

Open the can of soup.

Dice up Velveeta.

Pour in some milk.

Stuff the crescents.

Pour on the sauce.

Put in the oven.

Done.

Can you freeze leftover ham?

Yes, within 3-4 days of proper refrigeration methods and as long as it hasn’t been left out at room temperature for over 4 hours. To freeze, dice it up into bite-sized pieces, and place in a plastic resealable bag. To keep it extra-safe from freezer-burn, consider wrapping it in plastic wrap first, and then in a resealable bag before freezing.
