How to Make Gingerbread Waffles

Step by Step Instructions

  1. Sift together flourbaking soda, baking powder, salt, ground ginger, cinnamon, and cloves.
  2. In a large bowl, beat eggs until light and airy; add sugar, molasses and buttermilk. Whisk well.
  3. Slowly add sifted dry ingredients, beating until smooth. Pour in melted shortening and mix until combined.
  4. Pour batter into prepared waffle iron or waffle maker.
  5. Serve with maple syrup, drizzled honey and a dollop of whipped cream if desired.

  • 3 cups flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

Instructions
