I found this creamed spinach recipe with parmesan cheese in my handy, dandy Vegetables on the Side cookbook.  It’s the first place I look when I want to make a new veggie recipe.

So when I came home with the world’s largest bag of fresh spinach from Costco, I went straight to the spinach chapter. Voila, next thing you know, in less than 10 minutes, I had this easy creamed spinach on the table.

Steakhouse Creamed Spinach Ingredients

Step by Step Instructions

  1. Rinse spinach in water using a colander.
  2. Melt butter in saucepan over medium heat in a large skillet; add minced garlic and cook and stir for 30 seconds.
  3. Add rinsed spinach, and cook in the water that clings to the spinach after washing.
  4. Once wilted and tender; drain off excess water.
  5. Combine heavy cream and Parmesan cheese.
  6. Add drained, cooked spinach and cream sauce back to skillet, cooking until the cheese is melted.
  7. Season generously with black pepper and salt to taste. If desired, add a pinch of cayenne pepper or fresh nutmeg.

Storage Instructions

Let leftovers cool completely. Transfer to an airtight container, and store in the fridge for several days.
