Making homemade play dough is actually two activities in one. First, there’s the process of making the homemade playdough, and secondly, the kids get to play with the playdough. And, the options are endless when the playdough comes out.

Notes About Peanut Butter Playdough with Dried Milk:
- This is an edible playdough recipe. It actually tastes great. Once it’s been played with, I don’t recommend eating it, but if your kid sneaks a bite when you aren’t looking, it’s not going to hurt them.
- For easy clean-up, line your kitchen table or work surface with waxed paper. Toss it in the trash when you’re finished.
- If you like a drier texture, add a little bit of flour to the peanut butter play dough. Start with a half cup and add more if needed.
- Since this is a no-bake recipe, be sure to prep your flour to ensure it is safe to eat. Just cook it in a 350 degree F oven for 5 minutes, cool and then use.
- My dog actually loves this edible playdough too. He was cleaning up the crumbs from the kitchen floor after the kids got done playing with the playdough.
- Simple play dough accessories are fun to keep on hand. Try these from Amazon. Or, use whatever you have already in your kitchen such as a butter knife, rolling pin and potato masher.
How to make raw flour safe to eat?
Flour is a raw ingredient and can contain bacteria, like E.coli. Before using it in recipes like this no-bake peanut butter play dough, toast it in the oven to help kill bacteria that is usually taken care of during the baking/cooking process. Spread flour in a thin layer on a cookie sheet and cook in a pre-heated 350 degree F oven for 5 minutes. Let it cook completely and then use it in this recipe. Toasting flour also gives it a nutty flavor that’s perfect for this edible play dough!
