Strawberry Delight – A No Bake Recipe

Strawberry Delight is a simply delicious dessert with only five ingredients. This no bake strawberry dessert recipe is easy to make yet always a crowd-pleaser. This vintage Cool Whip dessert is also often called strawberry fluff.
I love family recipes, and this easy strawberry dessert is no exception. Aunt Terri included this no bake Cool Whip dessert in my sister’s bridal shower cook book. (I often flip through the personal cook books of friends and family when I’m at their houses. Yes, I know that I’m kind of a dork. I just can’t help it.)
Aunt Terri is kind of a big deal. She’s the woman behind our Old Fashioned Pea Salad and our Texas Caviar, two of my hand’s down favorite recipes. Just based on that factor alone, I knew I needed this Strawberry Cool Whip dessert in my belly.
As it turns out, this strawberry delight recipe only has five simple ingredients, so I put it on my Valentine’s Day menu for my sweet little Valentines. Good thing I did, because my kids loved it. It’s so light and fluffy and full of strawberry flavor, how could you not?

How to Make Strawberry Delight with Canned Strawberry Pie Filling:
For the full ingredient amounts and instructions for easy strawberry fluff, scroll to the recipe card at the bottom of this post.
- Beat chilled sweetened condensed milk until fluffy and white in color.
- Add drained crushed pineapple and strawberry pie filling and blend until combined.
- Stir in Cool Whip and chopped pecans by hand.
- Spread into a 13 x 9 inch baking dish, and chill until set.
Notes About Strawberry Delight:
- This strawberry delight is a no bake recipe. No oven or microwave needed.
- Chill the sweetened condensed milk before whipping with the mixer. Chilling it helps make it fluffy. If I forget, I just put the can in the freezer for about 20 minutes.
- Whip the chilled sweetened condensed milk until it turns from cream colored to white and the texture becomes fluffier.
- Drain the crushed pineapple very well to prevent a runny strawberry fluff.
- A large serving bowl or individual bowls could be used instead of a 13 x 9 inch baking dish, if desired.
- To spread prettily into your dish, try using a flat edged spatula.

Strawberry Delight Dessert Variations:
What can I do to modify strawberry cool whip dessert?
The sky is the limit to your creativity when making a Cool Whip dessert using canned pie filling. Here are some of my favorite variations:
- Substitute strawberry pie filling for cherry, blueberry, lemon, etc.
- Instead of using pie filling, use a box of strawberry Jello.
- Add mini marshmallows for a new texture.
- Try some flavored Cool Whip such as strawberry instead of regular Cool Whip.
- Want it to be healthier? Cottage cheese is an easy addition that doesn’t change the flavor.
- Any type of chopped nut could be used instead of pecans.
- Decorate the top with fresh strawberry slices and additional chopped nuts.
- Put the entire strawberry delight in a high powered food processor to make a smooth fluff.
- Add a layer of Cool Whip on top of the Strawberry delight to make it even prettier.

I used 1 quart of fresh hulled strawberries that I pureed in a food processor with 1/4 cup white sugar instead of the canned ones which has all of those preservatives. The fluff came ot fantastic. Love the additional of the pineapple. Thanks for posting.
That’s a great idea! Thanks for sharing.
Can you use your own whipped cream instead of Cool Whip?
Yes, you can use your own whipped cream in this!
How far in advance can you make this?
We wouldn’t make it more than a day in advance.
Can you freeze it?
We haven’t tried to freeze it. You may be able to, but we aren’t sure how the texture will be once defrosted. Might be good served frozen…
