Pineapple Cream Cheese Dip is a crunchy cheese dip filled with pecans, water chestnuts and pineapple, the perfect topping for your favorite crackers.
This cold dip has the flavors of your favorite cheese ball but you just have to mix the ingredients all together and serve in a bowl. You do not have to worry about forming it into a ball and rolling it in nuts!
Our entire family including my parents, sisters and their families (a grand total of 18 of us) went away for a long weekend to Hocking Hills, Ohio. We rented a huge, three-story house where we ping ponged, hiked, played cards, went boating, and ate ate ate the days away. We had a great time.
It was the perfect time to try our some new snacky recipes that I had been saving, and this Crunchy Cheese Dip was one of those recipes.
This deconstructed cheese ball is made with cream cheese and packed with tasty ingredients. We smeared in on a variety of crackers but pretzels would have also been a winner too.

Water Chestnut Dip
I’ve been on a roll using recipes from this vintage cook book from the Waynesburg Christian Church, including this Crunchy Cheese Dip as it is called in that book.
What drew me into this particular cold cream cheese dip was the water chestnuts. I love how water chestnuts give a recipe a good crunch without a bunch of flavor. It’s one of the ingredients in my Crunchy Chicken Casserole. Check out these Crock Pot Lettuce Wraps with water chestnuts from Recipes that Crock.

Notes About Pineapple Cream Cheese Dip – A Crunchy Cheese Dip
- Be sure to soften the cream cheese before making this dip. Failing to do this step will result in lumps in your water chestnut dip.
- Keep 1 tablespoon of pineapple juice drained off of the tidbits to add to the cream cheese dip.
- I had a hard time finding an 8 ounce can of pineapple tidbits, so I bought a bigger can and only used as much as I needed. Give it the best guess on how much 8 ounces is, and then eat the rest of it as a snack with cottage cheese.
- Don’t throw away the rest of the pineapple juice drained from the tidbits. Instead, make an Amaretto Pina Colada.
- Garnish with fresh parsley, if desired.
