Weekly Meal Plan: Meals Grandma Would Serve Week 3

What to Expect

This week at These Old Cookbooks, we are serving up delicious meals that Grandma would approve.   All of these recipes have simple ingredients (see our grocery list at the bottom of this post) and are easy to follow.

We’ve got some time-saving strategies this week!  On the weekend, we are using the Crock Pot to make Greek Beef and Potatoes, and then, we’re using the leftover beef in a whole new meal on Wednesday when we whip up Greek Beef Vegetable Soup.

Another way that we save time during those busy weeknights is to prep extra ground beef on Sunday that we will save in the refrigerator until later on in the week.

We’ve also chosen recipes that have the same ingredients such as frozen corn that is used in both Asparagus Corn Salad and Leftover Greek Beef Soup. Frozen peas can be found in Leftover Greek Vegetable Soup and Mom’s Tuna Casserole, and Cream of Chicken Soup makes two appearances in Tuna Casserole and Cheesy Mexican Chicken. You’ll also want to buy a large bag of shredded cheddar cheese so that you can use it in Cheesy Mexican Chicken and Cheeseburger Quiche.

See the grocery list below (we didn’t include the ingredients from recipes NOT on our site). You most likely won’t need everything on that list. We are betting that you have many of these ingredients already in your refrigerator or pantry!
