Hot Cranberry Punch Recipe

This is an easy, hot, spiced cranberry juice recipe that has only 6 ingredients.  The base is cranberry juice mixed with apple and orange juice while the spiced flavor comes from ground cinnamon and cloves.  When you warm this on the stove, be prepared for a delicious scent of fall to waft around your house.  Cranberry juice is on the bitter side, and this hot cranberry drink uses real maple syrup for the perfect sweetness.

I love serving a warm punch at the holidays. This one will compliment your Thanksgiving or Christmas meals.  With all the flavors of fall, try serving it at your next bonfire or barn party.  Here’s another secret: Try adding a shot of vodka to your punch for an adult version.

I found this recipe in a cookbook from the North Carolina State Elks Association.  No, I am not from North Carolina or anywhere close, but I’m sure my mom picked this up while on vacation. It’s one of those cookbooks where everyone submits their favorite recipe. I’ve yet to find a bad recipe in a cookbook like this.

Collecting cookbooks from different parts of the country where the cuisine is different from home is a favorite pastime to mine.  It’s very inspiring to see what I can do to change up my typical recipe lineup.
