Chocolate Chip Cake Mix Gooey Bar Recipe
My family firmly believes that all desserts are better with chocolate chips. Case in point: Mom’s Chocolate Chip Zucchini Bread. Would it be good plain? Yes, but it’s so so so much better with chocolate chips.
Well this is exactly how I feel about Cake Mix Gooey Bars. I do love the regular version that features yellow cake mix, but when chocolate chips are added to the mix, they become a five star dessert (in my humble opinion).
This ooey gooey butter cake variation is not only mouth-watering, it is also easy to make with only six ingredients. The bottom layer features a boxed cake mix combined with melted butter and eggs. This is where a heaping cup of chocolate chips goes. Then, this layer is topped with a cream cheese, powdered sugar and egg mixture.
Essentially it’s two layers of ooey gooey butter decadence.
