- 6 Tablespoons butter melted
- 1 3/4 cups all purpose flour
- 3 teaspoons baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 2 eggs
- 1 1/4 cups milk
Sift together flour, baking powder and salt.
Mix together melted butter and milk, add eggs and whisk until blended.
Gradually add the wet mixture to the flour mixture; stir only until blended--do not over-mix!
Add to heated waffle iron and cook according to the manufacturer's directions.
Eat plain, topped with butter and maple syrup, peanut butter, honey, almond butter, yogurt, fruit or anything your heart desires.
The nutritional information is auto-calculated and can vary depending on the products used.
- Make this a hearty dinner by serving with fried chicken.
- I've used half and half or fat free half and half instead of milk.
- Add a splash of vanilla extract, almond extract or Amaretto for more flavor.
- Top with your favorite flavor of yogurt, fresh berries and granola.
- Make it a dessert by serving with ice cream and chocolate sauce.
- All waffle makers are not the same. If you want a soft and fluffy waffle, use a Belgian waffle maker. If you like your texture a little crispier, try one of the smaller waffle irons.
