Ingredients

  • 1 small head of romaine, chopped
  • 8 slices bacon, fried and crumbled
  • 1/2 head cauliflower, broken into small florets
  • 1/4 cup radish, sliced thin
  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise
  • 1/4 cup sour cream
  • 2 green onions, sliced
  • 1/4 teaspoon dried dill
  • Freshly Ground Black Pepper

Instructions

  • In a salad bowl, layer half of the romaine, bacon and cauliflower.

  • Top with all the radish slices.

  • In a small bowl, mix mayo, sour cream and green onions (or chives).

  • Drop by the spoonful over the cauliflower. Sprinkle with black pepper and dried dill. Cover and refrigerator for at least 2 hours. Do not stir yet.

  • Before serving, toss the salad. Eat immediately.

Notes

    • Wash and drain the veggies well. Be sure they are completely dry.
    • I love to use a glass salad bowl so you can see how pretty the salad is.
    • This recipe is reminiscent of a seven layer salad, without so many ingredients.
    • Use approximately 1/2 head cauliflower and 1 smaller head of romaine. An estimate is fine.
    • Substitute Miracle Whip for Mayonnaise, if desired.
    • Green onions or fresh chives can be used in the creamy dressing.
    • Be sure to chill the creamy salad for at least 2 hours before serving.
    • Do not toss the salad until right before serving.
    • This salad is best if eaten the first day.
