Crockpot Swiss Steak
Crockpot Swiss Steak is a vintage recipe with a new spin. Slow cooking round steak results in a fork-tender cut of beef that pairs perfectly with carrots, potatoes and green beans for a complete meal.

- 2 pounds round steak
- salt, pepper and garlic salt
- 1 onion, sliced
- 4 potatoes, washed, peeled and quartered
- 4 carrots, peeled and sliced
- 14.5 ounces green beans, drained
- 10.75 ounces tomato soup
- 14.5 ounces diced tomatoes, do not drain
Cut round steak into individual sized pieces; generously season both sides with salt, pepper and garlic salt.
In the crock pot insert, layer sliced onions, seasoned beef, potatoes, carrots, and drained green beans.
Pour tomato soup and tomatoes over the top.
Cover and cook on low for 8-10 hours.
- Be sure to generously season both sides of the round steak with salt, pepper and garlic salt.
- Drain the green beans.
- Do not drain the tomatoes.
- Diced tomatoes, stewed tomatoes or whole tomatoes can be used.
- If you are using a thin-skinned potato like a Yukon Gold or red potato, then there's no need to peel.
- Try serving over cooked rice.
