Ingredients

  • 1 cup nonfat sour cream (full fat can be used)
  • 4 teaspoons fresh lemon juice
  • 4 teaspoons sliced green onions
  • 2 teaspoons sugar
  • 1 teaspoon dill weed (or 1 Tablespoon fresh dill)
  • 1/2 teaspoon curry powder*
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt-free seasoning
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 20 oz. frozen peas, thawed

Instructions

  • In a medium bowl, combine sour cream, lemon juice, green onions, sugar, dill weed, curry powder, salt-free seasoning, and black pepper.

  • Add thawed green peas, and mix until evenly coated. Top with zested lemon peel if desired.

Notes

  • Thaw your frozen peas before assembling.
  • Canned peas can be used too. Be sure to drain well.
  • Go ahead and make this a day or two ahead of time to let the flavors marinate together.
  • Substitute 1/4 teaspoon of turmeric plus 1/4 teaspoon of cumin for curry powder, if needed. 
  • Salt can be substituted for salt-free seasoning, if desired.
  • Pea salad with sour cream uses fat free, low fat or regular sour cream. You choose. 
  • I prefer fresh dill in this pea salad with dill recipe; however, dried dill works too.
