- 1/2 cup margarine melted
- 2 cups sugar
- 4 to 5 eggs see notes
- 2 cups flour
- 1/2 cup cocoa powder
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- Nuts or chocolate candy optional
Melt margarine; add sugar and eggs and mix together.
Sift together flour, cocoa powder, baking powder and salt; mix into egg mixture.
Optional step: sprinkle with chopped nuts or leftover candy.
Pour into a greased 9 x 13 inch pan. Bake in a 350 degree F oven for 30 to 35 minutes or until toothpick comes out clean.
- If you like a cake-like brownie, use 4 eggs. The batter will be a bit dry but that's OK. If you like a fudgy brownie, use 5 eggs.
