Ingredients

  • 4 oz. pineapple juice
  • 3 oz. cream of coconut
  • 2 oz. White (light) rum
  • 2 cups ice
  • 1 shot Amaretto

Instructions

  • In a blender, mix together pineapple juice, cream of coconut, rum, and ice until blended and slushy.
  • In a glass, pour one shot of Amaretto; pour frozen pina colado over the Amaretto.

Notes

  • This recipe makes one large hurricane glass full or two small martini sized drinks.
  • Putting in the extra effort to make the pina colada "from scratch" makes all the difference.
  • Cream of Coconut is often found in the alcohol aisle at the grocery store.
