Ingredients

  • 14.75 oz. can cream style sweet corn
  • 15 oz. can whole kernel sweet corn, drained
  • 14.5 oz. can diced tomatoes with basil, garlic & oregano
  • 15 oz. can great northern beans, drained
  • 12 oz. can evaporated milk
  • 8 oz. can tomato sauce
  • 1 cup potatoes diced or shredded
  • 2 chicken breasts diced
  • 1 cup half and half
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  • Combine cream corn, sweet corn, diced tomatoes, beans, evaporated milk, tomato sauce, chicken and potatoes in slow cooker.
  • Cover and cook on low for 8 hours or until chicken is tender.

Notes

  • Drain canned, regular corn and beans before adding to the slow cooker .
  • This is such an easy slow cooker chowder recipe.  Open the cans, and toss them in. Fix it and forget it.
  • Do not put the half and half in until the end of the recipe, about thirty minutes before serving.  You don't want it to curdle.
  • To lighten things up, use fat free evaporated milk.
  • If you're lazy, put whole chicken breasts in this crock pot chowder, and shred them before putting in the half and half.
  • Use a bag of frozen hash browns or diced potatoes instead of fresh potatoes, if desired.
  • Regular canned diced tomatoes can be used or try changing out your favorite canned beans.
