- 2 pounds kale, stemmed and coarsely chopped
- 1/4 cup water
- 2 Tablespoons sesame oil, toasted
- 1 Tablespoon olive oil
- 3 teaspoons minced garlic
- salt and pepper, to taste
- 1 Tablespoon toasted sesame seeds
Add the prepared kale into a large skillet with the water; cover and cook over medium/low heat until kale is wilted and tender, approximately 4-5 minutes. Remove the kale from the pan. (Drain excess water if needed.)
In the dried skillet, heat sesame oil and olive oil over medium heat. Add garlic, and cook for 10 seconds, stirring constantly. Add the wilted kale.
Cook the kale, stirring constantly until cooked through, approximately 3 to 4 minutes. Season generously with salt and pepper. Top with toasted sesame seeds.
- Remove the stems from the kale by folding it along the spine, and ripping the leaves easily away. Discard the stems.
- After wilting the kale in step one, drain well in a colander if the kale has excess moisture.
- Onions would be a nice addition to this sauteed kale recipe.
- While toasted sesame seeds are optional, I highly recommend that you don't skip. They add the most amazing flavor and texture to this sesame kale recipe.
