Ingredients
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 1/2 cup carrots, sliced
  • 2 Tablespoons flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 (10.5) ounce cans of condensed French Onion soup
  • 22-24 ounces prepared mashed potatoes
  • 1 egg
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon salt (optional)
  • 1/2 cup shredded Swiss cheese
Instructions
  1. Prepare a 11 x 7 inch dish by spraying with nonstick cooking spray. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.

  2. Brown ground beef and onions; drain excess grease.

  3. Add sliced carrots, flour, pepper and French onion soup and bring to a gentle simmer for 5 minutes.

  4. Pour mixture into the bottom of the dish.

  5. Mix mashed potatoes, salt, pepper and egg.

  6. Spread over top the ground beef mixture.

  7. Bake for 25 minutes.

  8. Sprinkle with shredded Swiss Cheese; bake for an additional 5 minutes.
