Ingredients

  • 1 can refrigerated biscuits (8 count)
  • 5 ounces canned tuna, drained
  • 2 Tablespoons mayonnaise
  • 1/4 cup chopped celery
  • 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 425 degrees F.
  • In a bowl, mix drained tuna, mayonnaise, celery, and cheese.
  • Flatten each biscuit.
  • Put 1 Tablespoon of tuna mixture in the center of each of 4 flattened biscuits.
  • Take the remaining 4 flattened biscuits and arrange over top.
  • Take a fork and seal all around the edges of the biscuits.
  • For a glossy appearance, brush the top with milk or cream.
  • Bake for 8 to 10 minutes or until cooked through.

Notes

  • This tuna melt foldover recipe was inspired by my kids' favorite Cheeseburger Turnover recipe.
  • Be sure to drain the tuna for this tuna melt turnover recipe so the biscuits aren't soggy.
  • You can use tuna packed in water or oil; I typically use the water version.
  • I find that using the Buttermilk canned biscuit variety works better that the flaky, layered type but either would work.
  • For a cheesier tuna melt, increase the amount of shredded cheese or use a slice of American or cheddar cheese tucked into the fold-over.
