  • We use 9x5-inch loaf pans.
You can also use 8x4-inch loaf pans or mini loaf pans. Just be sure to watch the baking time, especially on the mini loafs.
  • Double or triple this poppy seed bread with glaze recipe if desired.
  • Wondering what to bake for Christmas gifts? This is it! This is the recipe!
  • The almond glaze for this bread is delicious. It's made with orange juice, butter flavoring, vanilla and almond extracts. Steal this glaze recipe and use it on other cakes, cookies and breads. YUM!
  • Look for butter flavoring in the baking department at the grocery store with the other extracts like vanilla.
  • Line your pans with wax paper and grease generously to allow the breads to come out smoothly and easily from the pans.
  • Bake this poppy seed bread with glaze ahead of time, wrap in plastic wrap and foil, and freeze.  Then, pull it out when a guest arrives last minute, or bake ahead a few weeks before the holidays to save yourself time.
