Ingredients

  • 1 cup butter, softened
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 cups flour
  • 2 cups oats (old fashioned or quick)
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 8 ounces toffee bits (Heath)
  • 1 cup chocolate chips

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350 degree F.
  • Cream softened butter with brown sugar and white sugar until smooth.

  • Add eggs and vanilla, and mix until smooth.
  • In a separate bowl, combine flour, baking soda, baking powder, salt and oats.

  • Add in small quantities of dry ingredients into the wet ingredients, mixing in between. Stir in chocolate chips and toffee bits.

  • Scoop into balls and place on cookie sheet.

  • Bake for 10-15 minutes depending on size of cookie dough ball. Edges of cookies should be just browned.

Notes

  • Use regular old fashioned oats or quick oats in this recipe.
  • Be sure your butter is softened so that it creams easily.
  • There's no need to sift your flour. 
  • To change thing up, use dark chocolate, milk chocolate or white chocolate chips for semi-sweet. 
  • Chocolate covered toffee bits are found in the baking aisle near the chocolate chips.  Look for the Heath brand.
